JDM - Japanese Domestic Marktet
For people who see cars just as what they are, 4 wheels to a body with an engine, some terms may be jibberjabber to them. To keep everyone educated on the topics, I copied some information on some topics so people know what I mean when I throw around the terms.
The Japanese Domestic Market, or JDM for short, is a group name for everything build and made in Japan. This term is more known in the car culture, where JDM stands for vehicles built in Japan. Brands known from the JDM are Honda (with additional brand Acura), Mazda, Mitsubishi, Nissan (with additional brand Infiniti) Subaru and Toyota (with additional brands Lexus and Scion). Of course there are more cars like Isuzu, Suzuki and Daewoo, although they don't make an appearance in the scene that much to have their own group. Usually they fall under the same JDM group.
Common JDM cars are mostly known for their heritage in racing, like the Nissan Skyline GTR, Mitsubishi Lancer Evo, etcetera.
